30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day 6

I have had this gold paint for months and have been dying to try it out.  Today it became mountains, shimmering through the white snow.  This painting was done with a palette knife on a board which I gessoed myself.  After the gesso dried, I did not sand it smooth so as to add some extra texture to the piece.

For this ink painting, I was a bit messier than usual.  I like how there are layers of color that lie beneath with the gold and yellow bursts peeking out from underneath.

I wanted to experiment with metallic inks so I started off with with gold and silver.  The metallic inks were a bit thicker than my other inks so they held their shapes nicely while the beautiful blue swirled around them.

Fall is here!  Hard to believe that summer is over. Even though nature is starting to go dormant, it does so with such vivid color.

Not only the reflection but the different colored reflections in the flower and the stem attracted me to this piece along with the multiple shades of yellow and orange.  I love the simple subjects that have so much going on.

Am I Blue?

I found this blue cup and saucer in the cabinet the other day and knew it must be painted. Added a gold background and a spoon and we were good to go!
